A superbly gentle sandblast reveals the flow of the intricate briar grain, cast in a purplish red claret stain.
Before establishing his own workshop in the north-east of London, Bill Ashton Taylor worked as a master pipe maker at the world famous Dunhill factory.
After his passing in 2012, his long time right hand Jimmy Craig took over the production management maintaining the consistency of superb, completely by hand pipes.
The output is decidedly English in style, and wonderfully crafted.
Ashton pipes are famous for their taste, accomplished y design with a special secret treatment of the wood - what is mystically referred to commonly as oil curing.
