Rattray has produced pipes with bamboo stem applications for some time, drawing inspiration from and supplanting from the Stanwell Danish pipes that once permeated the culture, but are now difficult to find.
A dark high contrast stain brings out the bone-like texture of the bamboo to great affect, paired with an earthy sandblast and elongated shank, the result is beautiful and full of character.
Rattray's traces it's origins to 1903 in Perth, Scotland. Known for producing famed tobaccos and eventually diving into the pipe making business, they offer great quality and handsome pipe designs.
Currently, under the helm of Oliver Kopp they've established themselves as one of the premiere pipe brands and introduced innovations into pipe smoking.
