Savinelli designed a proprietary Balsa wood filter to be used in their pipes. The Balsa wood captures more moisture and impurities than a basic paper filter, but less than a charcoal filter. The filter is the shape of a triangle and made entirely of Balsa wood. The 6mm size is a great option to upgrade your paper filter. The 9mm filter size can be used as an alternative to a charcoal filter and will fit correctly.
Please be aware, there are other filter sizes and types. Most common are 9mm filters (typically charcoal), and Brigham Maple Rock filters. They will not fit a pipe designed for a 6mm filter, and vice versa. These other filters are listed separately. Please note, many pipes do not accept a filter at all.
